Advisor vetting

How we vet advisors.

Every Medium and Psychic who joins Aletheias completes a live evaluation call. The process combines a conversation about their background with a three-step practical assessment designed to observe how they work under different levels of information.

Time slot60 minutesOne hour is reserved for the full evaluation.
FormatAudio onlyNo camera is required during the call.
PlatformGoogle MeetThe evaluation takes place remotely.

The evaluation call

Conversation first. Practical assessment second.

We begin by discussing your background, experience, the way you normally work and the type of consultancies you offer.

We then move into a live practical assessment made up of three exercises. The exercises differ slightly for Mediums and Psychics, but both tracks include a reduced-information consultancy and a concealed target.

Assessment thresholdYou need to successfully complete at least the first two practical steps.

The practical assessment

Two tracks, three live exercises.

Mediums

Medium assessment

  1. Channelling session

Channel a being or a deceased person based on a given name

  2. Neutral-ID consultancy

Conduct a consultancy using only a neutral identifier, with no name or other identifying information provided.

  3. Hidden-colour target

Attempt to identify the colour concealed inside a sealed envelope.

First two requiredThe first two steps must be successfully completed.
Psychics

Psychic assessment

  1. Named consultancy

Conduct a consultancy based on a given name.

  2. Neutral-ID consultancy

Conduct a consultancy using only a neutral identifier, with no name or other identifying information provided.

  3. Hidden-colour target

Attempt to identify the colour concealed inside a sealed envelope.

First two requiredThe first two steps must be successfully completed.

Why a hidden colour?

A simple target with a clear answer.

The colour exercise is deliberately different from a normal consultancy. It introduces one concealed, predefined target that can be assessed without relying on interpretation or contextual information.

For Mediums, it is not intended to define mediumship or prescribe how the information should be obtained. The candidate decides how to approach the task. Because the first two steps are the required ones, the concealed target acts as an additional observation point rather than the defining test.

Research inspiration

Blinding and reduced-information conditions have a long history.

The structure takes inspiration from traditions in psychical research that have used concealed targets, reduced-information conditions and blinded procedures to limit ordinary sources of information.

  • Society for Psychical ResearchHistorical psychical research included controlled and target-based approaches intended to separate claimed anomalous perception from ordinary information cues.
  • WindbridgeModern mediumship research has also used controlled and blinded procedures when evaluating information attributed to mediums.
  • AletheiasWe borrow the underlying ideas of reduced information and predefined targets, then adapt them into a practical marketplace evaluation call rather than reproducing one historical research protocol.
